National Garage Sales for Hurricane Relief Day Proclaimed
National Garage Sales for Hurricane Relief Day
Garage Sales for Charity has proclaimed Oct. 29, 2005 "National
Garage Sales for Hurricane Relief day " in a continued effort to
raise funds for victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. While
millions of dollars have been raised, there is still work to be
done and donations are still needed by many organizations who
are helping in the rebuilding. This is a great way to help out.
Anyone who is having a garage sale on Oct. 29th is encouraged to
donate a percentage or all of their sales to organizations
helping in hurricane relief.
Garage Sales for Charity.org collects no money on behalf or
donated to any charity. Charity selection and amounts donated
are entirely up to the person having the garage sale. The can
choose any of the many hurricane relief organizations. Garage
Sales for Charity simply acts as a central resource to provide
information and promotion. They are not affiliated with any
organization, charity or political group.
Garage Sales for Charity is asking anyone who plans on having a
garage or yard sale on Oct. 29th, to make a commitment to donate
a minimum of $50 or 10% of their sales for hurricane relief.
After the sale is made a email sent to Garage Sales for Charity
listing the amount and charity given to, will allow them to keep
a running total of amounts donated nationwide.
We are estimating 2500-7000 individuals nationwide will hold
"garage sale for hurricane relief" raising another
$250,000-$500,000 for hurricane relief.
Please post this freely on your website, ezines and blogs.
One person, one garage sale, can make a difference.
