Understanding Visualization

Visualization is vividly imagining in your mind, pictures or images as these are the language of your sub-conscious mind. We all know the saying a picture is worth a thousand words, and this is true in the practice of visualization. Visualization and meditation are very similar, if not the same, as they both use the same techniques. You use images or pictures to balance your brain. Our brain is divided into two sides the left side, this is known as the logical side and the right side known as the creative side. Throughout our life we mainly use the "logical" left side of our brain. When you use visualization you are using the "creative" right side of your brain. When you use both sides of your brain it will place balance in the brain, this then helps in aiding the natural healing processes of the body and the mind. Your imagination Imagination is not limited to only seeing pictures in the mind. It also includes all the five senses. This allows you to imagine sound, taste, smell, physical sensation and feelings of emotion. For some people it is easier to see mental pictures. However, others may find it easier to imagine a feeling or they might be comfortable imagining the sensation of one of the five senses. If you have a strong imagination don't let people tell you that you are a dreamer or impractical. Because having a strong imagination strengthens your creative abilities and furthermore is a good tool for recreating and remodeling your world and life. Imagination is a creative power that is necessary for inventing an instrument, designing a dress or a building, painting a picture or writing a book. The creative power of imagination has an important role in the achievement of success in any field. When you imagine with faith and feeling, it's the power beyond creative visualization, positive thinking and affirmations. If you do not understand or recognize the importance of the power of your imagination and you let it run riot, your life may not be as happy and successful as you would want it to be. When you do not understand the power of your imagination it can cause and be responsible for suffering, incompetence, difficulties, failure and unhappiness. For some reason more and more people are inclined to think in a negative way. They do not expect success, they only expect and look for the worst and then when they fail they then believe that fate is against them If you have this attitude you can change it. Your life will then start to improve accordingly. By understanding how to use your imagination correctly and putting this knowledge into practice will benefit you on the golden path to success, satisfaction and happiness. So if you think in a positive manner about your desires you will have success in life. You are what you think! So Think Positive It has been proven that negative emotions lower our immune system and keep us bogged down mentally. Having negative emotions delays and stops you from reaching your goals and actually inhibits the brain in accomplishing what you want. A positive emotion actually boosts the immune system and makes the brain work in a balanced mode which is conducive to change. Experience has shown that creative visualization works. It is quite possible to prove that circumstances and events follow thoughts. Take any situation or happening in your life, and go back to find what kind of thoughts preceded the event. You will find that a particular event followed particular thoughts. Reasons why visualization produces results. You are an inseparable part of the creative Universal Mind. Your thoughts cause a tremendous power. You and the Universe are partners in creating your life. Everything in the universe is interconnected. Every thought, action and event in the universe are connected, and also influence each other. Each thought and action causes reactions and repercussions. Everything in the Universe is energy. You see differences because each object has a different wavelength and density. You live in an ocean of energy. Each wave in the ocean has influences on the other waves. Thoughts are part of the body's energy, and work with the creative Universal energy and you interact with it. Thoughts are like a magnet, they attract similar thoughts and circumstances. Thinking one thought invites into the mind more similar thoughts and ideas. These thoughts tend to attract circumstances that are in accordance with them. A clear mental image radiates from the mind of the one thinking it, and is transmitted to other minds. Whoever is receptive to this kind of thought may perceive and act on it, thus being the agent to fulfill their desire. By repeating the same thoughts day after day, the subconscious mind is driven to act on them. In this way habits and behavior are formed. The thoughts that sink into the subconscious mind drive people into corresponding action. Each thought you think arouses an associated emotion. If the emotion is strong enough, it incites to action. Strong thoughts energized by emotions cause more energetic and definite action than weak thoughts. Such an action brings results in accordance with the thought that prompted it. Similar thoughts bring people together. When one person has a need and the other can supply it, their thinking can bring them together in a surprising manner. This is what is called a coincidence. So why not begin today. Go and finds a quite place for 5 minutes and start your daily mental training routine. Be patient and persistent and the results will come, they always do. "The Mind controls the body and the mind is unlimited". Here are a few short exercises to get you on the started. Exercise One Turn your lights out in a room. Have a single candle burning in front of you. Close your eyes and clear your mind. Now, picture an apple. See the colour and texture. Turn it around in your mind. Spin it, turn it upside down see it from every angle. Hold it until you lose it. Keep on trying with different objects until you can hold it in your mind for at least five minutes. When you can do that, move on... Exercise Two Close your eyes again. This time picture yourself in a scene. See yourself (or someone you know) driving a sports car. Feel the wind, and see everything as though you are at a movie. For example, visualize yourself on the sidewalk of a very busy street. See the cars go by and other people on the street. See it as though you are watching a television screen and all the cars and people are the television show. When you can do this, hold it for five minutes, move on... Exercise Three Picture the busy street again. This time picture it so that you are "in" the scene.Feel the wind coming off the cars, and hear the hustle and bustle of everything around.Walk around; explore the street (or wherever you may be). When you can do this for 10 minutes, move on... Exercise Four This time, keep your eyes open. Picture your apple again, three dimensional and right in front of you. Firstly, look at you candle. Then, if you wish for a greater challenge, try picturing it while you're looking at a busy street. Actually see it as if it is really there and you can pick it up. Pick it up if you want. If you do, visualize the feeling of it, actually smell it. When you reach this point, when you can actually do this for an extended period of time, you're finished. Your power of visualization is in your control use it wisely. Try to repeat these exercises as much as possible, to keep yourself in practice.
