Call Accounting Can Provide Secure Call Detail Record Retrieval
With all the attention on corporate compliance to regulations
such as Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA, the need for security of
information and customers records is at an all time high. Until
recently there was no cost-effective method for the secure
remote retrieval of Call Detail Records from the buffer devices
attached to telecom switches, and corporations either had to
confront exorbitant costs to attain secure retrieval or risk
unauthorized use or theft of CDRs.
Partnering with Western Telematic, Incorporated (WTI) of Irvine,
California, TelSoft Solutions has engineered a call accounting
system that eliminates the need for added equipment, software,
or secure network connections.
"Enterprises who need to track Telecom expenses from multiple
locations no longer need to worry about insecure CDR data
retrieval from remote switching locations, or the need for
highly expensive solutions to make them secure," said Don
Simons, CEO of TelSoft Solutions. "This is especially important
for security-conscious organizations such as financial
institutions and health-care organizations, who not only need to
keep data secure from unauthorized users, but must also adhere
to stringent regulations regarding proper recipients of data.
The NetLink II addition makes it possible to securely retrieve
call detail records right over the internet."
Telsoft's MegaCall tracks telephone call activity generated by
any type and any number of PBXs from call record source to
assignment of accountability. It analyzes call activity for an
entire enterprise from a single web-enabled centralized system.
All information is collected in real-time and is immediately
available for viewing and reporting -- an essential support for
telecom expense management throughout the enterprise.
NetLink II is the latest in the line of WTI's best-selling
PollCat PBX data recorders, the first of its kind to offer
Secure FTP (SFTP) for CDR transfer and Secure Shell (SSH) for
user authentication. Prior to the introduction of NetLink II,
remote secure retrieval of CDR data required hundreds of dollars
of extra equipment per remote switching location, and much of
the time the data had to be transmitted over a phone line or
private network connection. Because of NetLink II's
state-of-the-art security features, the extra equipment is no
longer needed, and data can be transmitted right over the public
internet, greatly reducing connection costs.
This partnership has added another tool to help companies remain
compliant in the ever-tightening grip of data security.
