Momentary Troubles & Eternal Glory

2 Corinthians 4:17 "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." We all go through tough times, some worse than others. A friend or family member dying, being in debt, drug or alcohol problems, getting into an argument with someone we love... just to name a few examples. Although these times are tough to get through, we should try to never forget the big picture. I believe that good does come out of bad. I believe that tough times make us stronger people, and that if we react to them in a proper manner, they make us better people. In terms of the big picture, I believe that the bad times are just as important as the good times, sometimes ever moreso. The troubling times are the times that make us stronger. They make us dig down deeper inside of ourselves and bring out the best in us. They force us to suck it up and move on, and give us the resolve to deal with future troubles. If we continue to pray and to reach out to God during these troubled times, He will be there to comfort us and to lead us out of them. No matter how bad the situation, God can and will help us out of it. Rather than focusing on how bad things are, try to focus on the fact that God is there for you, with you throughout whatever it is that you may be going through. Also try to focus on the end result of these troubled times. Know that they are making you stronger and they are making you a better person. If you can get through the most troubling of times, it makes the good times down the road that much better. I've hit rock bottom more than once. I know what it's like. I know what it's like to lash out against God for making me go through troubling times. I know what it's like to abandon God because of it. Even as I write this, I am still going through troubled times. There is a huge difference now though. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am focused on the end result, rather than focusing on how much life sucks during these times. I know that when I get through it, I will be a stronger person and I will be a better person because of it. I know that God has in fact been here for me the whole time, even if I haven't always realized it because I was too focused on other things. I know that these "momentary troubles are achieving for me an eternal glory that far outweighs them all".
