The separation of Church and State? Evolution, Intelegent Design and the Bible.part 1. The Bible tells us of a time that men shall turn to science so called and be deceived by it. Lets look at each of the items one at a time. 1. The Bible. 1Ti 6:20-21; O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. The teaching of intelegent design is just about as bad as teaching evolution. Why? Because they want to teach a doctrine that is unstable in its content. They want to call it a theory, the Bible is not a theory but of a truth. Evidently some who professed to be true Christians. They are attracted by false philosophy, and soon, as a consequence, may be led to deny the doctrines of Christianity. This result has not been uncommon in the world. "(York Dispatch Editorial) "The Dover Area School District board's action mandating the inclusion of a statement supporting intelligent design in a ninth-grade biology class was an exercise in sanctimonious hypocrisy. And the resultant trial in Middle District Court in Harrisburg, with the board as defendants and 11 district parents as plaintiffs, is the result of a shameless religious exercise on the part of board members that turned into an unmitigated disaster -- the legal bill has yet to be paid -- for the district itself. The need for district voters to elect candidates from the Dover C.A.R.E.S slate on Tuesday -- and oust the entire sitting board and its outrageous policy -- is more than a matter of saving face, it's a required act of simple dignity. The current board's use of the big lie and convenient forgetfulness in the intelligent design issue and on the witness stand has been a case of the blind leading the pathetic." "Have erred concerning the faith." Yes many are making the mistake saying that evolution should be taught and the Bible should not be taught because of the National Law of Separation of Church and State. There is no separation of Church and State when The United States Congress daily opens up their Sessions with Prayer, when the Supream Court Building Has the Ten Commandments of God Carved in its Doors and the U.S.Curency has;"In God we Trust", on it. But where these Christians are making the big mistake is, when it comes to judgment, they will answer for what they have done. We cannot serve two masters. It is, like the other subscriptions at the close of the epistles, of no authority. O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust - This is another repetition of the apostolic charge. We as Christians cannot compromise the word of God by saying that it is a theory, it either is or it isn't. This inspiration the false teachers pretending to possess, dignified their misinterpretations of the ancient Scriptures with the name of knowledge, that is, inspired knowledge; for so the word signifies, And as by these interpretations they endeavored to establish the efficacy of the Levitical atonements, the apostle very properly termed these interpretations oppositions of knowledge, because they were framed to establish doctrines opposite to, and subversive of, the Gospel. To destroy the credit of these teachers, he affirmed that the knowledge from which they proceeded was falsely called inspired knowledge; for they were not inspired with the knowledge of the meaning of the Scriptures, but only pretended to it." But it is not clear that these heretics, or whatever they were, had any proper existence at this time. The Bible says of doctrines; John 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. Acts 5:28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 1Titus 6:3-5; If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 2Titus 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (See 1Ti.1:5, 1Ti.1:18-19, 1Ti.4:6-7, 1Ti.4:14, 1Ti.4:15, 1Ti_4:16; 1Ti_5:21; 1Ti.6:13.) 1Ti.6:11; 2Ti.2:1 keep: 1Ti.6:14, 1Ti.1:11; Rom.3:2; 2Th.1:4, 2Th.2:15; 2Ti.1:13, 2Ti.1:14, 2Ti.3:14; Tit.1:9; Rev.3:3 avoiding: 1Ti.6:4-5, 1Ti.1:4, 1Ti.1:6, 1Ti.4:7; 2Ti.3:14-16; Tit_1:4, Tit.1:14, Tit.3:9 oppositions: Act.17:18, Act.17:21; Rom.1:22; 1Co.1:19-23, 1Co.2:6, 1Co.3:19; Col.2:8, Col.2:18. end part 1. ars
