Subaru and Alternative Fuels
1 October 2005
The current oil shock should be making manufacturers think
carefully about alternative fuels, and once again the makers of
Subaru seem to be at the forefront of development..
Subaru is maintaining its innovative technological edge by
developing environmentally friendly alternative vehicle power
sources. The makers of Subaru announce in August 2005 that they
were developing Turbo Hybrid Parallel (THP), which is a
revolutionary power train system, we assume, for the Subaru
Hybrid cars; and a Lithium-ion Capacitor to broaden the use of
battery power in cars.
In the meantime Subaru have announce that a number of Subaru
vehicles may now run on up to a 10% ethanol fuel blend. It is
recommend before trying any form of blended fuels in your Subaru
that you consult you local Subaru dealer to ascertain if your
Subaru is good to go with blended fuels.
Subaru in Australia announced that Subaru sales had broken their
August sales records, with Subaru Imprezza being the clear
leader, nearly doubling its sales. It seems certain that
consumers are now looking for smaller, more fuel efficient, more
environmentally friendly cars, and once again Subaru appear to
be leading the way.
