Quick Look at Port Safety and Containers

How safe are our West Coast Ports? Many say security is a lot tighter after 9-11 and that it is safe and under control? Yet how can we be sure what is in those containers? What if a container is set off in the port itself before inspection? If it is on the West Coast the on-shore breeze will carry the radiated particulate matter into the city. Let us look at Long Beech for instance, there are 460 square miles of concrete as you go inland and civilization abounds in every direction. Sixteen point five million people are there and at risk. Another terrible scenario is; what if a short range missile is launched from a cargo ship as it enters local ocean areas? Port Safety is an issue; Well we sold the port next to Long Beach to the Koreans and now we are selling land to the Chinese in Portland, I question that.
