Can Facial Exercise Prevent Skin from Wrinkling and Sagging?

We can see facial exercises in every beauty magazine. There seems to be exercises for everything from our eyes right on down to the chicken necks that yes, we can firm up.

The question is: Can they prevent skin from wrinkling and sagging?

It's my feeling that anyone who is active and expressive is going to give their facial muscles plenty of exercise in the normal course of things. This way our faces get enough of a workout through routine smiling, talking, eating and even blinking. We go through an amazing number of facial expressions during the course of an average day, so if this type of exercise could help, we will never get wrinkles.

Dermatologists opinion is wrinkles do not come due of lack of facial exercise. There's no way for exercise to reverse that process, on the contrary, additional exercises may actually deepen existing lines by forcing our face into unnatural expressions.

Wrinkles come from breakdown and loss of collagen. Also, as we age, we lose some of the subcutaneous (under the skin) fat that helps keep us looking smooth and "rounded". I don't want to say that everyone should gain weight to minimize wrinkles, they are part of our life whether we like them or not.

One of the ways to delay the appearance of age on the face is to invest in a good anti-aging skin care regime. These are cleansers, toners, day/night moisturizers that have been formulated specifically to combat the early signs of skin aging.

Investing in anti aging skin formula is a guarantee to how gracefully you will age later in life.
