Turtle Bay Resort Offers Package for Golf Fans

NORTH SHORE, OAHU, HI (2006) - The recently renovated Turtle Bay Resort announces its 2006 Golf Package. Turtle Bay Resort is the only full-scale resort on Oahu's exciting North Shore, home of world-famous surfing, remote coastlines, spectacular scenery and the only 36-hole golf facility on the island. In 2003, a Travel & Leisure Golf magazine reader survey named the resort consistently among the top four to five golf courses in Hawaii in various categories. It was ranked No. 1 as "most underrated golf resort in Hawaii"; No. 4 as "top public golf courses"; No. 4 as "best golf resorts for a family"; and No. 5 as "best golf resorts in Hawaii" overall. The world-class Arnold Palmer Course, named as one of the top 10 courses in Hawaii by Golf Digest magazine (spring 2003), offers golf lovers a chance to try their game on the very course walked by golf legends like Tom Kite and defending champion Hale Irwin. Home of the Turtle Bay Championship, a PGA Champions Tour event, the Palmer Course is a fair and true resort course with beautifully sculpted fairways lined by the dramatic scenery of Oahu's North Shore. With the added challenge of the 18-hole George Fazio Course, Turtle Bay Resort is a golfer's dream. The Turtle Bay Arnold Palmer Course will be one of the 13 sites for the annual U.S. Open sectional qualifiers, making it the first one ever in Hawaii since 2004. Some of the best golfers from the U.S. Mainland, Asia and the Pacific will play the course in the hopes of securing a slot in the U.S. Open Championship. The Palmer Course is also the site of the Ladies Professional Golf Association's SBS Open at Turtle Bay Resort. In addition to hitting the course, golfers can fine-tune their games at the Turtle Bay Golf Academy. All lessons begin with setting objectives and end with a lesson review sheet with drills and points to work on. The Full Day School (8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) covers all facets of the short game and full swing. The morning is spent on the range practicing with video analysis. After the lunch break students have a nine-hole playing lesson. The cost is $325. The Half Day School also covers short game, full swing, uses drills and includes video analysis. The cost is $210. Student to teacher ratio is three to one. In addition, the Turtle Bay Resort Golf Academy offers specific lessons. The One Hour Video Instruction uses computer graphics and video to analyze the swing for $100. The Golf Fitness Lesson includes 90 minutes of evaluation of the golf swing, strength and flexibility. The instructor will create a golf and fitness improvement plan. The cost is $150. The 90-Minute Playing Lesson is conducted on the course, covering course management, strategy, club selection and mental focus for $115. Special programs include Group Golf Clinics held daily at 10:00 a.m. for $25 per person (complimentary on Sundays) and the 10-Minute Range Lesson with a golf professional who covers the basics before you hit balls. This is complimentary. Valid from Jan. 1 to Dec. 20, Turtle Bay Resort's golf package is as follows. The Unlimited Golf Challenge Package rate is $1,323 (double occupancy) and includes: -Three nights in an oceanfront premium room. -Three days of unlimited golf, cart and range balls.
