Well it seems as if we have had our share of Natural Disasters in the Summer of 2005, with the Gulf Coast flattened, New Orleans Flooded and still more Hurricanes to come. Can it actually get any worse? Well with ocean temperatures in the Gulf just one or two degrees below 90 degrees, you can bet any Hurricane entering the Gulf of Mexico under any strength with room to run, will become very large very fast. We should therefore expect at least two more large Hurricanes in the Gulf during the remainder of the 2005 Hurricane Season.

But Hurricanes are not the only disaster we worry of in our civilization. Earthquakes come without warning and depending on the type of fault and size can destroy much more than a Hurricane and in only a couple of minutes. Is California, Oregon or Washington State next? Some Geologists say it is. One recent report shows South Vancouver Island is ready to go North of Seattle. Other scientists and self-proclaimed Earthquake prediction experts predict a strong Earthquake between September 18 and 28 and there are several all saying the same thing. Although California has strict building codes, there are 8700 masonry buildings, which are predicted to fall in a 7.5 or greater quake.
