Thinking About Clean Water for the World

There are so many issues we must fix in the world, so many indeed. One, which so desperately needs our attention, is that of clean water in the world for an ever-increasing population base. At the current growth rates there will be a continual and increasing shortage of available clean water.

Water issues are only one of many thoughts. Indeed, it appears that the trends in population growth are in fact going to continue to collide with the fresh water supplies on the surface of the Planet. However, hopefully policies of the World Bank and new technologies and research for cleaning water and conservation will help ease that burden, although the issues will be with the timing of the infrastructure upgrades and ability to stay ahead of the curve. It appears although much is being done around the world, it is not good enough and unacceptable and must be focused on water and water quality issues or everyone loses.

When the Department of Defense published a statement of their thoughts on this issue; I.E. Nuclear wars, World Wars due to the future lack of fresh water supplies, some believed it started as a joke to the environmental liberal movement in the media and the Nation-less Entrepreneurial Capitalists who would much rather be in charge of running the world. And indeed both have their points in the sound and fury of human endeavor. The issues must be taken responsibly and a set of solutions put forth to permanently solve the problem of a population base of 60 Billion humans towards the end of the century or sooner, as the hyperbolic population charts are showing.

One observing the current conflicts in the world and those, which are inspired and instigated over; "them VS. us" are based on a religious or belief system context; might conclude that these are merely events to cause chaos and controversy. Such as the fog of war, in order to provide humans a sense of purpose, keep the natives restless and further one's forward progress during such a diversion. Perhaps one may also wish to wake up those who are being instigated or one might simply watch them as the are doomed to repeat their follies of the past. Today it might be over religious ideals and culture clashes, but tomorrow it very well could be over water.

There have been wars fought over many things and this is how humans solve their issues with impasses in politics between nation states. Although war itself is a sad statement of the species; we must also realize that only 1% of the number of people who have lived in the last 1500 years have died in war. One percent is not a significant factor to take up all of our focus, nor should it be our primary objective. Old age is the number one killer, killing 89% of humans. Perhaps one might look there too? However no matter what if there is not enough water to go around, you can bet we will all feel the conflict of mankind in a very personal way, not matter what politics govern the fresh water distribution. Think on this.
