Is our current education system capable of developing the minds we will need in the future to find solutions? Can our civilization recruit the brilliant minds for the think tanks, which will guide policy? Are we really helping students learn how to think and reason or simply recite the approved answer in a regurgitated memorization brain washing methodology?

If the education of the present period does not accomplish the task of teaching people to think and reason then we cannot achieve the future we all seek. Learning is an interesting concept. In human education generally we teach and expect those being taught to learn a subject, concept or set of facts, as per our teaching and our perspective. Whereas that maybe learning, it is not understanding and is probably not thinking or reasoning. We need to work very hard to prevent straight memorization and teaching for test answer results. We need human minds that can think and reason for the forward progression of the species.

Quite frankly we have a real problem in the United States, as we are not producing the innovative and progressive type thinking we will need in the next period to handle the level of technology and complexity needed to advance our civilization. I am concerned about this. How about you? Think on it.
