New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin Better Late Then Never - Wrong!

Mayor Nagin proudly announced on TV today or was it yesterday that 500 buses are ready to evacuate people from New Orleans in the pending Wake of Hurricane Rita. Mayor Nagin it seems you are a Disaster Late.

Mayor Nagin what can you say to the families and friends of the people who died because you failed to mobilize the buses and Evacuate the people prior to Hurricane Katrina. Mayor Nagin what can you say to the 2,000 children still missing and separated from their families. Mayor Nagin weren't those same 500 buses available to you in the days prior to Hurricane Katrina.

Mayor Nagin the city of Galveston organized a citizens committee that went door to door to find out who would need help in evacuating from Rita. Buses were sent into the neighborhoods to bring the sick and poor to staging areas where they could be brought to safety.

Mayor Nagin in Galveston entire families are being put on the same buses and transported to the same shelters.

Mayor Nagin we are all human and we all make mistakes. Some mistakes are easily forgivable others are not. Ordering the wrong number of text books for a public school is a forgivable mistake. Failing in your sworn duty to protect and serve the People of the city of New Orleans and Evacuate the sick and poor is a unforgivable mistake especially when it leads to all manner of human suffering including needless lost lives.
