Pestering Cramps of the Stomach Flu
Pain can be exacerbating when it is the stomach which pains; and
when the pain lasts for more than a day, beware the symptoms of
stomach flu. Not that the flu is incurable but the faster the
cure the better your health. For those who start pondering if
the pain he has is in fact the flu we are taking about, it is
best to get a closer picture of the reality of stomach flu.
It is the symptoms of the flu which differentiates it from other
similar stomach ailments. The pain which makes you feel
nauseated, which causes cramps, diarrhea and fatigue in fact
spreads as a viral infection on the lining of the stomach and
the small intestine. Better known as viral gastroenteritis,
stomach flu can cause mild fever, loss of appetite and add on to
the misery of staying shut in your house with muscle cramps.
Tests may confirm the presence of one of the viruses: Rotavirus,
Adenovirus or Norwalk virus. Test for stomach flu can at times
be misdirected with the test for appendicitis or other stomach
infections.
But the mild fever and loss of appetite has its origin in one of
the above mentioned viruses. Stomach flu symptoms can result
from direct contact with the infected person.
Kids beware! Be it a kiss or the food you share, the last thing
that you might enjoy would be the pleasure of kissing and the
food sharing- the flu spreads. Once it spreads the lining of the
stomach and intestine becomes inflamed and temporarily stops
performing. This lasts for a day to three days and each of the
symptoms of stomach flu pops up.
So the best method of prevention would be to catch up with the
symptoms of stomach flu. Watch for your fever, cramps and
diarrhea as the last thing you would want to be careless about
would be to invite the Norwalk virus for a stay in your stomach.
