Give Your Niche Business A Kick-Start With Resell Rights
If you don't have a niche product of your own and you don't have
the experience, time or inclination to develop one, Resell
Rights is great way to give your niche business a kick-start.
Here's why...
When you buy the resell rights to a niche product you're buying
a ready-made business, usually complete with a tried and tested
sales letter, graphics and in some cases other marketing
materials. All you then need is a suitable domain name, hosting
and a payment processor and you're ready to start marketing.
Once you start selling, all the profit you make is yours - just
as if you were selling your own product.
Resell rights can apply to both physical and digital products,
but for the online niche marketer it's better to stick with
digital products which your customer can download immediately.
We're going to limit ourselves to digital products here.
Before you jump in though, there are several categories of
resell rights license which you need to understand first :
Resell Rights - Gives you the right to resell the product
to your customers but your customers don't have the right to
resell the product on.
Master Rights - You get the right to resell the product
"and" sell the Resell Rights license to your customers. Your
customers can in turn resell the same product to their customers.
Private Label Rights - This is the grand daddy of all
resell rights! Buying Private Label Rights usually gives you the
right to change the product in any way you like - put your own
name on it, sell resell rights and even master resell rights to
others and basically use and treat the product as if it were
your own creation.
There are others, but these are the main ones.
Some products come with resell rights included "with" the
product price, whilst with others the cost of the resell license
is in addition to the product price.
When you buy the resell rights separately from the product they
will probably be more expensive, but don't be put off by this
because the good news is that the higher price will help limit
your competition. This is because the number of other people
purchasing the rights will be less than for cheaper licenses.
Something else you should know is, "not all resale licenses
are created equal".
License terms can vary considerably, so it's essential that you
find out exactly what you "are" and "are not" allowed to do with
the product before you commit to buying the rights. For instance
the rights seller may include restrictions like:
=> Setting the price at which the product must be sold.
=> Prohibit the bundling the product with other products.
=> Prohibit inclusion in membership sites.
=> Prohibit selling the item on Auction sites.
Although these restrictions may seem onerous, generally they are
there to protect the integrity and value of the product and your
investment as a reseller.
OK, now we've covered the basics, let's move on to where to look
for products with resell rights. Here are some suggestions:
=> Search engines - type in the search phrase "resell rights" or
"master resell rights" and search through the listings which
come up.
=> Resell rights and private label membership sites - these
sites will provide you with a steady stream of products for you
to market.
=> Ask the author - If you have any digital products that you
already own that you'd be interested in marketing, try
approaching the owner and see if they're prepared to sell you
rights to market their product.
Marketing resell rights products can be a lucrative string to
your niche marketing bow, but choose your products with care.
Research the rights offer thoroughly, ask the seller how long
the resell rights have been available and how many licenses have
been sold already before you leap in. If the offer has been
around for a while and a lot of licenses have been sold there'll
be a lot of competition, keep looking - it will be well worth
the effort.
