A Hundred Years Ago
Only a hundred years ago the information and experiences that
were taken in and processed over a two-year period of time are
the same as we are faced with now in just one day! We find
ourselves on the hamster wheel of life rather than enjoying the
high-way. We are so busy rushing that we seldom feel we have
time to ask our self where we are going. We hesitate stopping
because it seems we are making such good time...but to where?
Life has become hectic and overwhelming with the avalanche of
technology and accessible information, yet we hold onto the
belief that if we just run fast enough we can handle it all. We
become anxious and stressed trying to be all things to all
people, and in our race to care for everyone else and handle all
the information that avalanches us we starve our souls. We are
running on empty with no true sense of direction.
We cannot give from an empty cup, nor can we add anything to one
that is full. We must empty our soul from all the habits and
defaults that block our happiness and fill our soul with the
thoughts, words, people, and friends that foster and feed our
authentic spirit. This opens a flow that deepens our sense of
joy and freedom and allows us to reconnect with our passion and
creativity.
One way we throw our self Off Course is that:
We starve our soul... * We keep too busy to avoid feeling.
Many of us are afraid of feeling what we feel. We stay numb
instead of honoring our emotions. Some of us fear that, if
unleashed, they will overwhelm and hurt us.
