Hand held vacuums buyers guide

As with the advancements in options of upright and canister vacuum cleaners, hand held vacuum cleaners are joining in and offering many styles, models and options to choose from. Some of the features you may be familiar with a hand held vacuum are light weight, corded or cordless and the ability to mount on the wall. Cordless performance depends a lot on the charge of the battery, for small light cleanups they will do well and they come in handy when there are no plug-ins near by. As the battery power drops so does the suction power, and if you didn't finish the job you will have to wait while the battery recharges. Two styles of hand vacuums are; straight suction or suction with a power brush to agitate the carpet or upholstery for a deeper clean. Some hand held vacuums, corded with the power brush work very well on pet hair whether it's on the couch on the stairs. Some available attachments for the hand held vacuum include: a brush for upholstery, crevice tool, extension wand and a switch to lock the machine in the on position. Consider where you will use the hand held vacuum and its primary purpose, will it be used regularly for cleaning up pet hair or do you just want something to clean out the ash tray once and awhile.
