Recycling Inkjet Cartridges
Today's motto is Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. With everyone owning
home computers and printers, there are a lot of ink cartridges
being produced. Many of these cartridges can be recycled and
refilled. Buying recycled cartridges to use in your printers can
save over 50% on cost. Buying in bulk for business can save even
more. The remanufactured cartridges perform as well as original
manufacture ones. Perhaps sharing purchasing with another local
business could help save cost.
These cartridges may seem small and insignificant in size, not
taking up much room in a dump, but ONE medium sized business can
create several 55-gallon drums filled with cartridges in one
year. Count the number of businesses in your area and this can
add up quickly to a large bulk destined for disposal.
To raise funds, some schools and charitable organizations are
collecting used cartridges and sending them to recycle
companies. Many of these companies pay from $2 to $10 for used
cartridges. This not only helps remove cartridges from the
disposal stream, it helps the schools and charities. Consider
donating to these organizations or using the return mail tag
that many printers include in their packaging. Not only are
recycling cartridges better for the environment, it's better for
your company's bottom line.
