Bosco Decides to Sell His Ebook

Do you remember the article "Bosco Learns About e-Book Publishing"? Bosco wondered what all the fuss was about e-Books. He had lots of them on his hard drive. If you want to read that article for the first time or again, here is the link, mailto:Bosco_ebook@sendfree.com .

Then he had a bright idea. Why not sell an e-Book? So he started figuring out how to do it. But first...

Bosco: "Well, Fang, I've got a great idea, again. I'm going to write and sell an e-Book."

Fang: "You know I've made fun of your online antics before, but this is getting ridiculous! Just the other day old man Crabapple at work asked when you were going to come back to earth. Sell your own publication? You're nuts!"

Bosco: "Fang I'm not going to publish a book like you buy at the bookstore. That would cost thousands of dollars! This is an e-Book, as in electronic."

Fang: "Oh, one of those. You must think you're Mike McGroarty ( http://www.homemadebooklets.com ) up there in Ohio. You're a long way from being like him!"

Bosco: "That's o.k. I've got to start somewhere."

First, Bosco needed a topic to write about. He decided to do an e-Book on, what else, writing, compiling, and distributing an ebook!

So he took to writing and compiling his e-Book. It took a couple of weeks off and on, but he finally had a good quality product. Again, if you want to see how Bosco did it, send for that article here: mailto:Bosco_ebook@sendfree.com .

Next, he needed a web site to direct traffic to so he could sell his e-Book. He figured a clean and simple design would be the best vehicle for his e-Book site. So he set to work and designed one on his favorite HTML editor software. It was "short and sweet".

Bosco found some web site templates at http://www.27stars.com for those who didn't how or had the time to design a web site. Click on free web graphics. There was some good free templates there.

As he did his site, Bosco realized he needed a way for folks to order his e-Book. So he went to PayPal ( https://paypal.com ) and set up an account, which is all free. PayPal has an area where you can fill out a form and then displays the resulting HTML code.

He took this code and pasted it into his HTML editor where his new site was being worked on. When clicked on, it takes the buyer to the PayPal site. There the new customer can pay for Bosco's e-Book.

To keep thieves from stealing his hard work and money, Bosco used an encrypting software called HTML Sentinel. It can be obtained at:

Bosco then went to his favorite search engine and typed in "ftp software". He picked one that had the features and price he liked. This software uploads his new site to his domain which his hosting company provides him.

The link to his site looked like: http://"YourDomain".com/"ebooktitle".htm . Bosco took this link and started promoting it on the Internet.
