Same Fate

Now a days two persons are compared very highly. These are Indian cricket caption Sourav Ganguly and BJP President Lal Krishna Advani. They seem to be heading in same way. Both are supposed to quite their post by December. Ganguly exit may come even earlier. Both are good in their respective field and know their timing in their good times. Masterminded by Advani, the Ramjanamboomi movement found a great voice in India.

The middle class emerging of Mandal commission was fairly exploited by Adwani. Ganguly was also the master of his timing. When he did his debut in Indian cricket, he was known for brutalizing bowlers and finding gaps well. Even critics come in praise of him. Like Advani he was a leader too. In his leadership Indian team first time reached World cup final. Both took their respective teams to new height.

Moreover Ganguly boy almost overcome then unbeatable Australia and followed by beating Pakistan in Pakistan. Both leaders created their own teams. Adwani leads the team of new generation leaders like Sushma Swaraj, Pramod Mahajan, Arun Jaitley . Unfortunately nobody is much of help for him in the time crisis. Similar is the situation with Ganguly. One may say Ganguly and advani responsible for their state. In trying to project himself alternative to Atal Bihari Vajpayee and creating a secular image, he told Mohammed Ali Jinnah a secular leader. Historically that was half truth and politically unnecessary. This situation left him weak and created a situation for announcing his exit.

Ganguly plight is similar. The Indian captain has world at his feet. He kicked it away. But Ganguly forget that he has made his name in one Dyer's as all -rounder. When he becomes captain his fielding become worse and he stopped bowling too. The idea is who cares as long as India wins. So when bad form struck he has nothing to fall back. When sixes dried up, he could not get singles going because he never developed this art. Now he is unwanted and aging. Both face the end of a successful and controversial carrier. They may be winning short battle but destined to lose big battle.
