Capitalizing On Googles Name To Make More Sales

If you have a website, chances are you are using Google Adsense to monetize it. If you have been surfing the internet for longer than a few days, you have no doubt, ran across these ads on your adventures through cyberspace. Whether the ads are placed on the page to stand out or blend in, the fact remains that these Google Ads are recognizable for what they are.

What I'm getting at is that Google is a well known and trusted name. People visiting your sites see the Google Ads and if they are not finding what they are looking for and see an ad by Google on your page that seems to have exactly the information they were seeking, rather than go back to Google and try their search again, why not just click the ad right on your page. After all, the ad is from Google, it says, "ads by goooooooogle" (and no, I didn't count the o's in google there) right above or below the ad so it is assumed to be safe to click.

Hey that's great right? I mean, that's why we put those ads on the page in the first place, right?

Ok, now let's think about this for just one second. Perhaps your traffic comes to you entirely for free. In a perfect world, that is the perfect scenario. You paid absolutely nothing for that surfer to visit your site, they looked around for a bit then clicked your cleverly placed Google ad and you scored some quick change. Probably not enough for a cup of coffee, certainly not enough for a good cup of coffee, but a few more of those and it will certainly lead to a trip to your favorite coffee shop before you know it.

On the other hand, perhaps you actually paid for that surfer to visit your site. Maybe you only paid .10 cents and their click on that ad paid you .35 cents. Good for you! Maybe you paid .35 cents and their click earned you .10 cents. Not good for you!

Now unless you are running dedicated adsense sites where your marketing genius has enabled you to buy all of your traffic from Google for a dime and sell it for a quarter, the chances are we wanted that surfer to either buy something directly from our site or one of our sponsor sites where we could have earned a nice commission.

How about one last attempt of making that sale or earning that commission before we pass off our surfer for nickels and dimes. Not that I won't take all of the nickels and dimes I can get but I would rather have a few crisp bills if you know what I mean!

So, what we can do is take advantage of Googles branding and trust factor and place our cleverly disguised links either above, below or preferably above and below your Google Adsense code so that the look of your links blend perfectly with those of Google. It is our site, after all and you have every right to try and maximize your profits from your hard work and advertising dollars.

Your OLD Adsense ads may look like this.
The following example is for a Skyscraper ad and I'm only going to show a couple of ads for demonstration purposes.

You can open these links in a new browser window and possibly still earn some coffee change if they don't find what they are after at whatever site you've sent them off to. Now you can buy all of your friends a cup of coffee as well!!
