Private Space Enterprises

We all know that space will become the final frontier for Corporate Commercialization. What sorts of businesses will go into space? Well we already know that space tourism is starting. We saw the media releases of SpaceShip One and potential tickets to travel into space for only $250,000 which is a deal considering the Russians are charging some 20 million to take someone to the space station for a few days. Soon there will be hotels on the moon too. Special tours to the Mars Surface, talk about a once in a lifetime opportunity, well if you have the money, you too can go there.

Launching Satellites is also a huge industry around the world, as well as building, flying and operating them. There are commercials and military patrons for which there seems to be no shortage of customers lining up for more.

We also have heard of the money to be made in studying BioTech in space, as viruses, immune systems, vaccines and medicines all operate differently in space. There is no shortage of laboratory experimentation lining up for a ride on the next shuttle to get to the ISS to carry out an experiment to prove or disprove a theory.

What about mining? Indeed, there is titanium on the moon, lots of it and many other minerals needed in manufacturing and it will be less expensive to make things in space to use in space, such as spacecraft, space stations and colony building materials.

One group recently has decided to start a Space tug business after all if you get stuck you cannot just call AAA to help you. There will also be customers with satellites or what about towing the Hubble to the moon rather than allowing it to fall in rubble? See for yourself.
