Industrial Revolution to Hit China Sooner Than Expected

Every industrialized nation goes through a period when industry grows so fast that the environment suffers. When the environment suffers, clean air and clean water, then human health of the country is impaired. The Health of a Nation is just as important as the Wealth of a Nation as many a scholar has reasoned.

Currently over 395,000 Chinese Citizens die prematurely from air pollution and that figure is expected to rise to half a million within 2-years. Water pollution is another big concern especially after the big dams were built and valley were flooded. Water pollution through out the world is at crisis as populations keep expanding and water supplies do not grow. In fact when there is a drought there is the same amount of pollution and sometimes a fifth of the amount of water. This obviously means that the water is 5 times worse due to concentration levels.

China does not have the stringent policies of the EPA like the United States although they do have a government run environmental protection agency with some rules, hardly anything similar to what we have. This means more diseases and faster spreading due too unsanitary conditions. Bird Flu for instance is a big scary thing. With their AIDS crisis, flu and unhealthy air and water. China will have a much more drastic Industrial Revolution than we did which was based more on labor wage rates, work hours and living conditions nearby factories or while building the rail road. Think on this.
