Carwash Lobbying Efforts to Curb Government over Regulation

Car washing is a good business indeed, as there are more automobiles and vehicles than people in America. But it is also another industry, which is completely over regulated. This is why the industry has formed a very large association. The Car Wash Association is constantly planning lobbying efforts to reverse the recent legislation, which forces them to run their businesses in an inefficient manner.

For instance a year or so ago there was a rule that coin-op car washes in Atlanta Georgia would require that they do not leave their businesses unattended while in operation. Meaning they would have to employ security guards 24/7, can you imagine the costs of that? Now then the police had sufficient reasons for this as before the law was reversed due to a small minority trying to put political pressure on the city council. The ruling was reversed thankfully for the car wash owners. But indeed, there are some things about this issue, which may not have been in the news when the passed the law.

Reading on a bulletin board in the Industry of car washing you will see where one operator said he would not close because he did not believe that the city would enforce those laws. Another that said the best way to curb crime at his carwash was with a ruger. While it may be his right to carry his Smith and Wesson and the right to bare arms, I do not believe vigilantism is what you were looking for when you passed the law to curb crime.

But never the less these are the types of legislation which can hit a car wash owner out of the blue and cause tremendous unanticipated costs and destroy any chance of a reasonable return on a man
