Open letter to Syd Field:

Syd, I like you. Don't take this the wrong way. But three acts, plot points, mid point and pinches - while useful to some extent - just don't cut it. It's like saying that a meal consists of a starter, a main course and a dessert. But they don't tell you how to cook the meal. Come on Syd, you have to agree, the Hero's Journey is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon. Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters:
