The human innate characteristic to fight when threatened is well researched. It goes deep in our species and has come from millions of years of evolution. We see similar characteristics in other animals. Even what might appear to be a docile pet, can turn to primitive instinctual attacking animal that will take a bite out of you if it feels threatened or cornered. So if you want to fight or feel rage coming on, then you might wish to stop for a second and observe what is triggering this emotional state and what you might do to either over come the threat or use logic and reason to decide another method to alleviate the stressful situation. This is not to say that their will not be times when self-defense or fighting will not be necessary, but rather to point out that sometimes discretion is the better part of valor.

If you are reading this article then obviously you find yourself in a place where more often than not you chose to fight to solve a problem with another or a threat. This is totally a genetic trait and quite frankly one, which has got our species this far. Without it we may have become extinct or many of our ancestors would not have been able to get you and I here, as they would have perished before they procreated. But on the other side of the coin, today there are members of our population who do not exist, for their ancestors, perhaps our ancestors as well had chosen to fight a battle that they did not win.
