Hilton Consensus: Week 10

Las Vegas Hilton SuperContestants apparently are feeling a Rocky Mountain High in Week 10 of the 2005 football season, even though the Denver Broncos will be playing in a city by the bay.

The record field of 505 players tabbed the Broncos minus a field goal over the Oakland Raiders as their best consensus bet by a 151-78 count. Top plays are 5-4-1, including a pair of best bets one weekend.

The No. 1 underdog play was Houston plus 17 1/2 over Indianapolis 59-40.

Pittsburgh, which is laying 8 to Cleveland, received a 44-11 nod in the Sunday night game, while Philadelphia minus 2 1/2 was a 118-105 choice over Dallas on Monday night.

Closest call of Week 10 was St. Louis plus 6 1/2 over Seattle 111-104.

Hilton participants paid $1,500 per entry and select five NFL games weekly against the spread. They get one point for a win and one-half point for a push.

Entries are limited to one per person, but many players have two or more entries because spouses and friends also entered. Also, contest numbers often vary from those available later in the week.

Other consensus nods went to Kansas City plus 2 1/2 over Buffalo; Washington pick'em over Tampa Bay 132-86; New England plus 3 over Miami 141-73; San Francisco plus 13 over Chicago; N.Y. Giants plus 9 1/2 over Vikings 111-81; Detroit 72-41 over Arizona; Baltimore plus 6 1/2 over Jacksonville 78-60; Carolina minus 9 over the N.Y. Jets 105-65; and Packers plus 9 1/2 over Falcons 67-47.

Devils LLC currently leads the pack with 33 1/2 points and is two full games ahead of four players with 31 1/2 points.

The champion will earn $303,000 and 20 entrants will cash.

The season ends on New Year's Day.
