ISN'T IT ABOUT TIME FOR MARSHALL LAW,

Listening to the news regarding the recent destruction of New Orleans, Louisiana and neighboring states, and hearing the stories of rape, violence, and other atrocities at such a time of need for all of the victims of hurricane Katrina, I believe it is time that "Marshal Law" was declared. There should be no tolerance at all for any form of criminal activity. And, anyone observed committing a violent act upon another should be shot on sight.

I know, I sound quite the extremist don't I? But, give this matter a little thought. You are a young girl o woman. You have just lost everything you knew in your world. You are fatigued, hungry, and possibly sickly. And, some sick creep decides to rape you. What would you feel inside if you were her? Would you still find reason to live? Can you imagine the nightmares every one of those people will have to face in their futures, just as victims of the hurricane? Think of the additional nightmares subsequent to being a victim of violence from your fellow man.

I think the states respective Governors should declare "Marshal Law" and start dropping armed military throughout the area with instructions to "shoot to kill" anyone observed committing an act of violence against another, until all of the hurricane victims have been rescued. There is absolutely no excuse for toleration of such an act of abuse. The Governor's may not be able to transport all the people out immediately, or get food and water to them all immediately. But, there is no excuse for not sending the military in to protect those people immediately.

Is it possible that nobody as of yet has considered dropping small military units with supplies and tents throughout the area, having each unit set up a "Command Center" to temporarily house, treat, and protect these people. Doing so would probably save numerous lives. Has any consideration of sending the Navy to the beach working inland to where water meets the land?

I consider myself a realist. Getting those people out of the area to safe haven and care logistically has to be a nightmare unto itself. But, getting the military in to the area to protect and at least police the area is nowhere near as difficult. I know that if my family was in there now, waiting for rescue, and nobody was doing anything to protect them from the animals around them; I would be quick to try to get in there myself.

God bless those trying to help others. And, may your soul rot in hell if you are victimizing another, stealing, or abusing anyone in any way.
