RECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES

A Marriage Made in Heaven and Hell is a reminder than when life gets tough, don't despair-a better day will come. A little sacrifice and forgiveness mixed with love and understanding can help to build a solid marriage and settle differences.
Tying the knot shouldn't result in a noose around anyone's neck. When 43% of marriages fail, it's obvious that someone isn't taking this seriously - even though America's Puritan ancestors designated marriage "the highest and most blessed of relationships." There are more examples of how to survive a divorce than how to create a solid marriage. And "irreconcilable differences" is one of the most cited causes of marital dissolution. How did we ever get the idea that being married should be easier than any of other relationships?

This is a story of my life chronicling a lifetime of struggle, from my family's exodus from the Philippines to the United States to my arranged marriage at the age of eighteen. Even when the marriage was more hell than heaven, I managed to defy the odds and keep from strangling.
