Afraid of Risk? Then Read This

Are you risk adverse, do you fear risk? Are you often taking the safest route and are the safety conscious one on the team? How about at home, do you always attempt to take the safest route to reduce risk? Have you ever changed plans based only on risk, chosen a safer way to go, or chosen to not go at all?

There is a very good reason you do this you know. That reason is that those genes, which fear risk, had taken less risks along the way in your ancestry and thus survived to reproduce. Those who took to many risks were eaten by Saber Tooth Tigers, killed in wars or chose to run away and fight another day, rather than take a risk, which might end their life experience.

It is okay to fear risk as it is about the most natural human innate characteristic and instinct people have. But it is not okay to fear all risk and it is not okay for all of us to not risk. Indeed we need people who take risks, because otherwise we would have never discovered the new world, broken the sound barrier or took that giant leap for mankind, you see? Without some risk there is no progression of the species.
