There is currently a bill circulating and gaining support in Congress, which would be another law to curb SPAM, Phishing, and such. It is called the 'US SAFE WEB Act of 2005.' US SAFE WEB is an acronym for; Undertaking Spam, Spyware, And Fraud Enforcement With Enforcers Beyond Borders.

Unfortunately all the morons in Washington D.C. go around making laws assuming that it will stop crime. For instance there is an FAA Law that you cannot steal an Aircraft. Another that you cannot park a vehicle in a building in NYC that is not an approved parking structure; but did the International Terrorists care about that? No, of course not.

Indeed if we are not going to enforce the laws we already have such as the CAN SPAM Act, which the Federal Trade Commission is impotent in curbing, as they cannot even stop the Viagra SPAM, then how or who on Earth is going to enforce this next law if this bill passes?
