The Year of Revolutions

New Year resolutions no longer interest me. Sure quitting smoking, exercising, eating right, and losing weight are all worthy of your time. However, resolutions by themselves usually fail because they are not inspiring. They don't compel you to want to succeed. Beginning right now, I am only interested in creating and offering revolutions.

By definition, a revolution is a far-reaching change in ways of thinking and behaving. For many of us, it is our governing mind, that inner critic, that needs to be overthrown. We need to elect a new inner ali in it's place.

None of us were born with an inner critic. Most of us adopted our inner critics from years of put downs, and a lack of acknowledgement or praise. On close observation the voice of the inner critic isn't even our own but comprised of all the things we have been told about ourselves. Over time, the inner critic is fed huge portions of negativity so that it grows to be big and self-defeating. By the time we have reached mid-life many of us have given our inner critics free reign over our brains. It is time to take your power back.

Where do you need to confront your thinking? What do you need to throw out that keeps you victimized, criticized and small? If you want to improve the quality of your life you don't need to look out there for the answer. The answer lies within you. This will take conscious effort on your part. You can begin one thought at a time.

This year, wake up your mind to a new reality; a positive consciousness. Be grateful to anyone and anything that gives you the opportunity to choose how you will think about yourself. Exercise the choice to be the one in your life who stands by you, no matter what.

Let this New Year be the beginning of your revolution. Change the way you think and behave in your life and watch what happens. I can guarantee you won't need to make any more resolutions when you make peace with yourself.
