There is a lot of potential small businesses one can start in Hawaii. One that has recently come to mind is starting a mobile auto detailing, mobile car wash business or fleet cleaning business. You see due to the salt air vehicles must be cleaned regularly otherwise they will rust out very quickly.

Additionally in Hawaii there is quite a bit of business in cleaning of Rent-a-cars, tour buses and distribution company fleets. In fact there is all sorts of stuff to wash. Perhaps you can start a business for your wife. The customers will like it. I can remember in our company that the clientele always loved the Gals to clean their cars. We have set up lots of Car Wash Gals and they always do well!

Of course if you are out cleaning vehicles you will need to have insurance. For insurance you should look in the Yellow Pages for a nearby company; Insurance Broker or Insurance-Business or Commercial Insurance. You see not all companies like to underwrite these types of mobile businesses.

Once you find an insurance agent be sure to tell them that you will be engaged in auto detailing and suggest Firemen's Fund, American States or Lloyds of London. Be sure to tell the agent that this will be part time at first. You most likely will need 100K-liability insurance. Perhaps you can add such a business policy to your auto insurance policy? Maybe you should consider this in 2006.
