EU Shows Morality

In response to the Murdering organization Hamas winning last week's Palestinian election, the European Union (EU) demanded that Hamas recognize Israel (CNN). ItsTheRightWay.com has been very critical of European countries like France and Germany for their support of terrorism toward Israel. We applaud the Eu's position in regards to Hamas.

Hamas has slaughtered hundreds of innocent babies and children over the years. The fact that Palestinians elected an organization that calls for the destruction of Israel, speaks volumes of the morality of the Palestinian public.

How can Israel be expected to negotiate with baby killers and a group that calls on Israel's destruction? Obviously the EU doesn't think diplomacy is possible under these circumstances. The EU's position is powerful. The EU has been a big supporter of the Palestinian hope for an independent nation. In the past, the EU has turned a blind eye toward Hamas's killing of babies, because it believed in the peace process.

Now there's uncertainty that peace can be achieved. The international community is skeptical that a terrorist organization like Hamas is willing to lead the Palestinians toward peace with their Israeli neighbor.

I believe that the EU is now starting to find out what the Palestinian public is all about. It's about the destruction of Israel. The fact that Hamas won a huge majority in last week's election, shows the free world that maybe the Palestinians are driven by hatred and don't really want peace.

We salute the EU for sending a message to the murderers. We don't think the EU went far enough. The United States has suspended sending funds to the Palestinians and has called on other nations to do the same.

The EU may follow suit in the near future if Hamas doesn't recognize Israel. So now the ball is in Hamas's court. They will either sink or swim. If they continue with their barbaric actions the international community will line up against them.

Hamas is not a fringe organization anymore and this means that it's not free to fire missiles at Israel. The EU now expects Hamas to lead the Palestinians with legitimacy and diplomacy. We're not sure if Hamas has the will to represent the Palestinian people properly. Electing Hamas may have been an error in judgment by the Palestinian public. It could have set back their dream for an independent nation.

Unfortunately the Palestinian people will have to live with their choice of government. The Palestinian people believe that Hamas will improve their economic position but unless Hamas deals with Israel in a diplomatic fashion, that will never happen.

In fact their economic position may worsen. Palestinians may find themselves isolated from the international community. We're not sure what will happen but one thing is certain, it's do or die time for Hamas.
