What is the secret thing that can be done so easily you might ask? Making wedding labels for the wedding favors, thank you cards, and even name tags for the reception. These can all be done very easily within one hour or all together in a quick afternoon. Yet the extra thoughtful addition will add that spark of special and touch of class to the whole event.

Yes, wedding labels is a large category and it can include labels for thank you cards, wedding favors, place cards for seating, and even little touches like additions to a wine glass or disposable camera. By adding these little extra labels throughout the event you can easily pull the theme of the wedding into everything that you do.

The easiest way to get started is to think about your theme. Do you already have a theme for the wedding chosen? If not that is okay making the labels will help cement the theme in your head. Simply go online and type in terms like wedding labels or free wedding clip art and search around. Take 15 to 20 minutes to find something that you really like. This is a very individual process and each person has their own idea that they are looking for. You might be looking for something more in the realm or cute, or craft looking like some type of stamp art or you might want something very formal and in gold and silver. Keep in mind that traditional and cultural themes can also be brought into your search terms easily to include this in the clipart that you are looking for.

Typically if doing this for a client it is easiest to use the theme of their wedding and type that in. Then try to spot a suitable background for the label. Keep your eye out for things other then labels. You do not just want a preformatted already made label that someone else has done. Rather gather ideas from the pre made labels available online and then find you own unique design and background. With clients it is easiest to use their theme as a search term and the term wedding label. Then try and look for things that are not labels but nonetheless have an artistic flare or beauty to them. Usually most people will spot something almost instantly that they like. Often from experience it is not a label that is already made but a background that can easily be made into a label.

After selecting a suitable background it is important to find a font that ties in with the theme and the background. You most likely will want a little contrast in this area to make the font legible and easily viewed. So if the background is very dark and busy a white font that is simple will look better. Another trick if the font is not legible enough is to dull the background or to change the contrast down a little bit. This will sort of gray out the background and allow the writing to pop out more.

Once you have selected the background, a suitable font it is time to get started. You will want to reuse the same fonts and background over and over again to really pull the theme together and to ensure you r labels do not look like a bunch of random pieces put together at the last minute. Typically it is easiest to start with the wedding favor label or a name tag. Start off with a big graphic as it will allow you to add more detail and then later you can always size the image down to fit the type of label you are printing on.

Now work on the first label. Lay the background out in an interesting way. Remember the background does not have to just simply cover up the whole background of the label. You can break things up a bit by adding a colored boarder around the background image. You can also change the shape of the background image so it does not simply fit the label perfectly. Then put in your writing. This depends on the label you are making but could be anything from the person's name for nametag or the bride and groom's name and date they were married for a wedding favor. This really depends on the type of label that is being made.

Once you have your first set of labels done go ahead and work on labels for something else. This should be easy as you have done all of the research and spent time collecting your working graphics and text. Do not simply take the label you have already created and try to squeeze it into the new label that you want. In other words do not take a name tag label and then try to stretch or reduce the size of it to fit into a heart shaped tin for the wedding favor. Instead start with a new wedding label from scratch. Then add in the exact same background, clipart and fonts as you did for the last label. However you now have the flexibility of change any of these items to the desired shape. Whereas if you have used a previously label it often has to be stretched and reduced to fit the size for the new label and this can make it irregular nad print very funny and stretched.

The key with wedding labels is to first identify the theme of the party. Second spend some time online looking for suitable graphics and fonts. Then simply assemble them together. This is best done if at all possbile far before hand. These labels will not spoil or go bad so they can be done as soon as you have a wedding date and theme chosen. So get started early and save yourself the stress later on. Also have some friends come over and have a label making party! They can help attach the labels as needs and etc.
