Six US Ports Going Once, Twice, Sold to the Highest Bidder

Many are upset to see that six major US ports are up for sale and a UAE owned entity is looking at buying them. Some of the controversy has been brought about due to Longshoremen Unions who fear losing those high-paying jobs and the rest of the controversy seems to stem from fears of International Terrorism.

Lou Dobbs had a Television Show on this and further embroiled the masses asking the tough questions; do we really wish to turn over control of six US Ports to them? Well here are some thoughts on that tough question on a more positive side of things. Often folks will complain that we cannot turn over such assets to foreign interests, but you must understand that shipping is all an international business anyway, it always has been. You see those ports are already Foreign Trade Zones and we already board every foreign ship.

We must also understand that if they buy the real-estate; they are doing it at the when there are not a lot of buyers at that level of purchase price, as it mirrors the top of the market. Lets also not forget that those ships have to go back with something in them and we have lots to sell. Additionally they have lots to buy in return due to our addiction and oil purchases. Now then I ask you this; Wouldn't you rather have them buy and ship out US Products and keep Americans working and manufacturing the best of America? Consider this in 2006.
