For 300 Billion Dollars We Could Have Bought the Country

Some are very concerned about the amount of money we have spent in Iraq, the amount of the most recent allotment, and the amount estimated to complete our second phase to stabilize the historic region. No one of course can debate that three hundred billion US dollars is a boatload of cash; indeed it is.

However, we as a nation should be quite proud of what we have done, as we have liberated a nation and came to the aid of our fellow man in a noble cause. We have;

1.) Strengthened our position in the world so others know that they must be held accountable,

2.) Removed and brought to justice a tyrannical dictator,

3.) Set up a government for and by the people

4.) Allowed Iraqis the right to vote and watched purple fingers at the polls

5.) Set up security forces and trained thousands to help themselves

6.) Rebuilt infrastructure, an on-going process to insure on-going success

That is what we have gotten for our 300 Billion US Dollars and although it really is a boatload of money, it is something we can be proud as Americans, that we along with our closest allies are willing to see thru. Consider all this in 2006.
