The job market continue to change everyday. Within this market there is an element that create problems for employers. And it is from employees who equate happiness with obtaining the right job.

It's true that most of us work in a field that we enjoy. However, there are those who are never satisfied with their employment, whether they are self-employed or for someone else. Some are seeking more money, security or sucess to bring them happiness. But can it be measured by material gain or prestige?

Reflect for a moment and allow the images of Hurricane Katrina to surface. What really mattered to those who survived was saftey, food, clothing, shelter and family. And a great number felt that God was a source of strength for them. But their job did not matter at that moment.

The media and peer pressure forces many of us to measure sucess by material gain. If we sucumb to these attitudes we will never find real happiness.

The Labor Department says that the gain in jobs are lower in pay, benefits and less hours. Yet there are millions of workers who are happy working these jobs. Many start home based businesses and earn less. How are they able to do it? They realize that happiness is not in the right job.

The secret to their sucess is not a secret at all. They have either learned to live on less or they were taught how to do it. In addition they have come to appreciate that true happiness is found in satisfying their spiritual needs, helping other people, which includes their neighbor and family members.
