The Fix is In

A near equally divided electorate over the last two Presidential elections is reaching for some change from the status quo and possibly more entertainment. Hillary and Bill is the most radical change they can imagine and offers a large degree of safety, due to a vast network of corporate political boosters. Add those to Howard Dean style grassroots fundraising and this could be the richest campaign in political history - the best Presidents money can buy. Do you suppose the Republicans will come up with a real campaign finance reform plan after this election?

The Supreme Court will play a major role, whether or not George Bush gets to make another appointment and especially if he does not. A pro choice majority will do all they can to have a pro choice court. The religious right is discredited and cannot play much of a role in the 08 election.

There is no serious opposition from either party and with Hillary we get two for the price of one, with the first woman President getting top billing. What Hillary lacks in charm and charisma, Bill makes up for in spades. All he has to do is campaign for Hillary and then he can disappear from public view, if he or Hillary chooses. We know Bill will be on call to apply his experience and personal connections should trouble arise.

Hillary can be non committal about Iraqi Freedom, merely hinting she will bring the forces home, until the last month of the campaign. Then she can make it a promise; since there will still be over 100,000 American troops in Iraq by election day and the casualty numbers could easily be double what they are now.

There is no Democrat who can beat them in the primary and no credible Republican opponents. John McCain has been a George Bush lap dog on any issue of importance and he is such an obviously calculating politician, he probably can
