Should We Accelerate Our Space Program?

Many say accelerating our planned lunar manned trips and space base is too risky and it will take time. Some say it is unwise to take risks in exploration. Some say that it takes a long time to get things done in a huge bureaucracy? Many actually believe that utter hokum and whimpy response. You know what I think? Do you know what I say to these folks? I say well then;

Tell it to Christopher Columbus, Lewis and Clark, tell that to Neil Armstrong and why not tell my ancestors William Bradford and Edward Winslow too. Sure we can. I know we can. How do I know? Because I know what the human species is capable and you throw in a little American determination and strength of character and hell we are half way there already.

If McDonalds can make enough hamburgers to go to the moon and back, we sure as heck can get off our butts and hike up there and build our base camp. There is no mountain or no challenge that the American People cannot achieve, I know it and it is about time the rest of the world knew it too.

Indeed it is utter non-sense to wait until 2020 to go to the moon and build a little igloo base camp. And 2030, to Mars well folks that is not breaking any speed records either and folks we owe to our heritage and strength of character to show the world what we are made of and why we are the greatest nation in the World. It is not an accident. So, show me.
