Live For Today, Not Tomorrow!

How many times have you heard this? If you paid a nickel for every time you have heard this, you would probably be in bankruptcy court by now. I am referring to people who speak as if they will live forever. Well to quote the pastor of my church, "The results are in and experts have concluded that 10 out of every 10 people will eventually die." It's common knowledge that many of us think that we are invincible and will live forever. We like to think it's someone else that will pass prematurely.

Our journey begins as an infant crawling onto the road of life. Of course, we never know how many miles there are on the road. We have a journey to follow but don't know what path we will take or where it will lead us. The only thing that we know about our journey is that it will eventually come to an end. I personally believe that we are living on "borrowed time." To further elaborate, how many times have you heard someone refer to their retirement? They boldly state,
