Puggles - The New Hybrid Dogs

There are so many new hybrid dog breeds that people keep coming up with. One of the newest is the Puggle, which is a cross between a Beagle and a Pug. This unique breeding creates a dog which looks great and has an excellent temperament.

The Beagle is a very hardy, small hound. It is very lively, sweet and curious. This dog is extremely sociable and is great with children and other dogs. It seems to love everyone! The Beagle is also very determined and requires firm training.

The Pug, on the other hand, is a very strong, small dog. It is very playful, loyal, affectionate and a generally happy dog. This is a very charming dog that is always fun to be around. The Pug is extremely smart and gets bored easily. They get along great with children, other pets and visitors.

The combination of these two breeds creates a great looking dog. The Puggle is a hound with a thick body. It has a smooth, short haired coat that is tan, black, or fawn. It has the wrinkled forehead and curled tail of the Pug, but the long drooping ears of the Beagle. The average weight of the Puggle is between 15 and 30 pounds and the average height is 13 to 15 inches at the shoulder.

Puggles have a great temperament. They are very sweet, playful, affectionate and social. They have a lot of energy and absolutely love to play. However, they also love to have their downtime. The Puggle makes a great lap dog; it loves to cuddle up with people. It tends to enjoy playing for a bit, but it quickly tires for a nap. It also gets along great with children and other pets. This dog seems to take the best qualities from both the Beagle and the Pug. Furthermore, Puggles are very low maintenance. All they need is an occasional bath, nail clipping and ear cleaning.

Training Puggles can be a bit slow because they are so hyper and playful. However, these dogs are eager to please and will learn with consistent training. Some Puggles will howl occasionally; they get this from the Beagle side of them.

Puggles tend to have less health problems than Pugs but more health problems than Beagles. Puggles don't usually have the difficulties that Pugs have with their joints, eyes and skin wrinkles. This dog won't get overheated as easily as Pugs do, due to the longer nose. However, their nose will be shorter than Beagles and if the dog has the desire to run a lot like Beagles do, then it might have a problem with overheating.

Because these dogs are so popular right now, they are more expensive than even pure bred dogs. Their prices range between $650 and $900. Their prices will come down once the demand for them decreases. Right now, it's almost cheaper to buy a pure bred Beagle and a pure bred Pug and breed your own Puggles.

Puggles are mid-sized dogs which make great housepets. Their size makes them perfect for living in an apartment, but they do need more exercise than other apartment dogs. It is a very sweet tempered, playful dog and makes a great companion. This dog is recognized by the ACHC (American Canine Hybrid Club).
