How can we increase travel and tourism to America from our Mexican Friends who are South of the Border, while insuring that no one comes to our nation illegally? How can we secure the border without jeopardizing normal cross-border flows needed for trade and transportation?

How can we insure that no international terrorists cross into our nation from Mexico pretending to be tourists, guest workers or truck drivers? How can we possibly ever secure our borders with Mexico without drastic measures, which will also hurt tourism, travel and trade? How can we allow local border residents on either side to come and go freely without long lines and hassles at the border check points?

It appears that the tamper proof ID Cards with biometric proof of who is who makes sense and virtual fences along the border also make good sense. These are a couple of the very good things currently being done to help us secure the borders, allow for work Visas and guest worker programs, but turn away drug dealers and gun runners.

We must have a comprehensive plan that allows for two-way border travel at approved check points and allows for trade, transportation and tourism other wise we end up cutting off the hand that feeds us on both sides of the border. Consider this in 2006.
