Addressing Premature Ejaculation & Sexual Performance Anxiety

Premature ejaculation can significantly undermine a man's sexual self confidence and as a result can lead to sexual performance anxiety.

Sexual performance anxiety is an emotional condition that is associated with feelings of anxiety or nervousness in love making situations, low sexual self confidence, feelings of inadequacy as a man, a fear of ejaculating prematurely, loss of ejaculatory control, feelings of guilt, depression and in the worst cases the avoidance of sex.

The following may help you address this issue.

1. Get regular exercise and reduce your weight. Supervised weight lifting especially helps to enhance cardiac performance and consequently sexual potency.

2. Strengthen your PC muscles by doing daily "PC pumping" exercises. The PC muscles are those you use to stop urinating in mid stream. When you tighten them you can feel them just above and behind the scrotal area. Tightening and releasing them in repetitions of 100 to 200 once a day, increasing to 100 to 200 twice a day after a week along with continued practice will give improved ejaculatory control and build self confidence.

3. Reduce alcohol and caffeine consumption along with any other foods that you may be sensitive to. (Please see my article on Food Sensitivities).

4. Get adequate sleep.

5. Discuss your feelings about the problem with your partner. I'm sure she is more understanding and accepting than you might think.

6. Slow down your love making and communicate with your partner as to where you are in your arousal state. Let her help you while you relax.

7. Get to know your own arousal levels and when to pull back.

8. Meditation or relaxation exercises can be extremely helpful in helping you slow down and develop self awareness.

9. Reduce stress levels.

10. If you still have sexual performance anxiety after all of this you may be suffering from the emotional consequences of having had this as a chronic problem. A new modality called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) can be helpful in releasing such underlying anxiety (see the web link below).

If there is still a problem you may wish to be assessed by your healthcare practitioner for some other underlying medical condition that may be present.
