Hurricanes and Home Business Issues

If you have a home business in a devastated or destroyed area or region of the United States of America which was hit by a large category storm during the 2005 or 2006 Atlantic tropical hurricane season, then you'll have to work very hard to rebuild your business and make sure you maintain your cash flow during this rebuilding period.

Hurricanes can be most damaging to home businesses because often phone lines will be out and the power will be out and it is almost impossible to run your business when all this is occurring. Also as you try to leave the area with your family during mandatory evacuations you cannot always take all your computers, printers and peripherals as well as the inventory you need to run your business.

FEMA and other government agencies including the SBA Small Business Administration understand these things and they have loans available for all businesses due to this fact. The only problem is it takes a long time to get your check and the bills including your credit cards cannot always stop and wait for you to catch up.

If you own a home small business that you need to have a hurricane disaster plan or have thought out in advance how you will be able to run your business if a major hurricane comes your way. I hope you will consider all this 2006.
