Hurricane Photos and Photography

One of the most popular things in photography is taking pictures of storm clouds and this is why we have tornado chasers and why so many people refuse to effectuate during hurricanes. Often these pictures are actually worth something to the news media but it is hard to get the news media the pictures you have taken because the phone lines are out and there's no way to fax them or to send them by E-mail.

However, such pictures of large category hurricanes are all valuable and some people will risk life and limb to take them. Storm chasers are nothing new and neither are surfers who think they can ride out the big storm surge wave from the hurricane. But trying to take a photograph during a large category four hurricane is enough to blow you away and it is hard to hold onto the camera when you need to hold onto a local tree as you are sticking out like a flag on a flagpole.

For those brave enough to weather the storm and venture outside of the hurricane party in order to get a perfect shot of the hurricane, they know what they risk with each picture they take. As you surf around the Internet you will see pictures of hurricanes and the photographers that took them.

Some consider them very brave men others consider them fools. Nevertheless they are all probably adrenaline junkies and they do it not only for the sport, but also to prove that they weathered the storm. Consider all this in 2006.
