If you own a boat cleaning and detailing service then you know that most of your business will come from referrals. In fact, some industry specialists in the boat cleaning and detailing business state that up to 80 percent of the business comes from referrals or word-of-mouth advertising.

The best way to get new clientele when you start your boat cleaning and detailing business is to use a more personal approach through networking. A boat detailing business owner should be on a first name basis with the owner of the marina, the boat and yacht salespeople, marina services companies and the Coast Guard.

It is amazing the amount of work that you can get referred to your business through very little amount of networking and it will be fun to make new friends who have similar interests to you in the industry. If you are a nautical type person then perhaps you already know everyone around the marina and all the business owners who run all the companies that deal with the boat owners.
