What Retailing Small Business Owners are Looking for in a Resume

What are retailing small-business owners looking for any resume? Well, they want to make sure you are trustworthy and can use the cash register and can count change. They also want to see if you are good at customer service and have worked in a place where customer service was taught at a very high-level such as a Starbucks.

They want to make sure that you didn't jump around from job to job too much. If you are 25 years old and you have had 14 different jobs that might be an indication that if the small-business owner hired you then you will not be there for very long and they will waste all their time in training you to the methods they use to run their store.

Retailing small-business owners are looking for people who have high-energy, endurance, good social skills, customer service skills, have worked around cash registers and are able to listen to customers and what they need, want and desire. If you are looking for a job in the retailing small-business you will want to put on your resume on those experiences you have had working in businesses, which are known to be high in customer service and train all their employees to listen to the customer.

It also makes sense to list those businesses that you have worked at, which only hire high-energy and smart individuals. With those listed the small-business owner in the retail sector will be taking a lessened risk in hiring you. Please consider this in 2006.
