Delaware Towns Flood Out

The massive amounts of rains that Flooded Washington DC, have also been hard hit in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland and many people have already died. Several towns are being evacuated and they expect more rain. How much more?

Well a lot more and the beginning of next week a new storm is going to hit also? How much more water can some of these cities take and how much longer until the rivers crest and flood even more? Well it so happens that they expect even more rain, but the rivers already have water on its way down stream enough to do the job just from the previous rains.

Along the Delaware River it is quite serious and thousands of people were warned to get out and 100s under mandatory evacuations. Many bridges have also been closed due to flooding as the waters have simply gotten too high. Some of the larger toll bridges have suspended toll charges just to help move the traffic and get the people out of dodge.

Many city planners are calling this the 100 year flood levels. The folks in Delaware are worried that things may get worse then better and then even worse than now later in the week. Since there have already been drowning deaths the authorities are not taking any chances and everyone waits to see what comes next. Consider all this in 2006.
