Hurricanes and Coaching

Do you coach a sports team and are you concerned with the weather issues? I know that many people in the Northeastern Parts of the United States are and they are very worried about getting in all the practices with the fields flooded, forced evacuations and they know they need playing time and lots of practice to insure organizational management and team work is efficient and running smoothly.

Hurricane Season can be a coaching nightmare for many teams and their opponents may not have the same issues in the higher level of sports thus giving the fair weather teams a much superior advantage.

Even if you are unable to practice all the time it still makes for a strong team to get together and strategize and talk about the game, watch films of the opponents and previous games to build a team effort. Even if you cannot actually play you must get all the minds of all the players on the same wave length and thinking as one unit.

The only sure fire way to due this in the midst of bad weather and flooded fields is to all meet together somewhere and build up the camaraderie together. Studies show that teams which got together and did not practice were 6 times more likely to win more games than those teams which did not get together due to bad weather or cancelled practices. So consider all this in 2006.
